Game of Thrones

Created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and adapted from George R.R. Martin's epic fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire, HBO's Game of Thrones became the defining global television phenomenon of the 21st century. Set across the mythical, perilous continents of Westeros and Essos, the sweeping saga chronicles the ruthless, Machiavellian power struggles among noble dynastic families vying for control of the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms. As the noble House Stark of Winterfell, led by Lord Eddard Stark (Sean Bean), becomes entangled in the venomous political intrigues of the wealthy, ruthless House Lannister, exiled Targaryen princess Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) hatches three dragons in the east to reclaim her birthright. Meanwhile, to the far north, the ancient Night's Watch, joined by the bastard Jon Snow (Kit Harington), guards an colossal wall of ice against the re-emergence of an existential undead threat known as the White Walkers. Featuring an extraordinary ensemble including Peter Dinklage as the sharp-witted Tyrion Lannister, Lena Headey as the cunning Cersei, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jaime Lannister, the series shocked audiences with uncompromising lethality, seismic battles like the Battle of the Bastards, Ramin Djawadi's iconic musical score, and 59 Primetime Emmy Awards.
