"The sea is drenched in blood."
Storyline
Koratala Siva's 2024 high-voltage coastal action spectacle Devara: Part 1 marked the triumphant solo return of Man of Masses Jr NTR following his global RRR acclaim, grossing over ₹500 crore worldwide. Set along the rugged, lawless coastal waters of the Red Sea during the 1980s and 1990s, the epic saga chronicles four isolated warrior clans whose ancestors guarded the coast but have degenerated into ruthless maritime pirates smuggling illegal contraband and weapons for international syndicates. Jr NTR delivers an electrifying dual performance as Devara, a fearless, righteous tribal chieftain who discovers the horrifying weaponized cargo they are smuggling and bans all illicit sea operations, clashing violently with his ambitious rival Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan in a menacing, ferocious Telugu debut). When Devara disappears into the churning sea after leaving behind a lethal vow of retribution, his timid, cowardly son Vara (also Jr NTR) must navigate the deadly clan politics, falling in love with Thangam (Janhvi Kapoor in her South Indian debut) while guarding a shocking secret. Packed with jaw-dropping underwater shark fights and Anirudh Ravichander's roaring score, Devara is a mass marvel.
