Moana 2

Storyline

Moana 2 is a sweeping, visually dazzling Disney animated musical and oceanic adventure directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, returning audiences to the vibrant, myth-steeped world of ancient Polynesia. Set three years after her inaugural, transformative voyage that restored the heart of Te Fiti, Moana has blossomed into an accomplished wayfinder and an inspiring, visionary leader of the island tribe of Motunui. However, her hard-won peace is shattered when she receives an urgent, mystical calling from her ancestral wayfinding spirits, revealing that a treacherous curse cast by an ancient, power-hungry god has isolated the distant islands of Oceania, severing maritime routes and threatening the very existence of maritime civilizations. Determined to fulfill her ancestral destiny of reconnecting all oceanic peoples across the sea, Moana must assemble an eccentric, courageous crew of island navigators and journey into long-lost, perilous waters far beyond the safety of known reefs. To confront the monstrous celestial perils and turbulent oceanic whirlpools that lie ahead, she seeks out the shapeshifting, charismatic demigod Maui. Reunited once more, Moana and Maui must combine human perseverance, navigational courage, and divine strength to confront ancient leviathans, navigate treacherous subterranean sea caverns, and break the ancient spiritual curse that holds the archipelago hostage. Infused with enchanting new musical compositions, breathtaking ocean physics animations, and the charismatic vocal reunion of Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson, Moana 2 is an inspiring, heartwarming celebration of ancestral legacy, ecological harmony, and the courage to sail beyond the horizon.
