Sajin Gopu

Sajin Gopu is an Indian film actor celebrated as one of contemporary Malayalam cinema's most exciting, explosive, and idiosyncratic comedic talents. Hailing from Ernakulam with strong roots in Malayalam street theater and independent acting collectives, Sajin honed his impeccable sense of physical comedy, expressive micro-gestures, and unconventional vocal cadence over years of dedicated stage performances. After early character appearances in films like Churuli (2021) and Jan.E.Man (2021), Sajin achieved a sensational breakthrough in Jithu Madhavan's 2023 horror comedy blockbuster Romancham. Portraying Niroop—the burly, muscle-flexing bachelor who fiercely boasts of his courage by day only to dissolve into weeping panic and frantic religious chants at the mere whisper of the ghost Anamika at night—Sajin delivered a comedic masterclass that turned him into an instant cult sensation. Recognizing their extraordinary creative synergy, director Jithu Madhavan reteamed with Sajin for his 2024 mega-blockbuster Aavesham. In Aavesham, Sajin played Amban, the intensely loyal, oversized henchman and storytelling lieutenant to Fahadh Faasil's eccentric gangster Ranga. His uproarious recounting of Ranga's mythical backstories, coupled with his endearing sincerity and frantic physical comedy, made Amban one of the most quotable, viral, and universally cherished characters across Indian cinema in 2024. Sajin Gopu represents the dynamic new vanguard of character actors driving Kerala's cinematic golden age.
